Top 5 Useful YouTube Channels on a Vegan Journey

List of five useful YouTube channels for vegans. This article is part of my series dedicated to vegan information resources. Veganism has become a modern trend, more and more people are reconsidering their eating habits and are recognizing the validity and relevance of this life style in this day and age. This series introduces you to a selection of vegan resources that have influenced my decision (to one degree or another) to go vegan and further stick to the lifestyle.

About The Series

Five fundamental reasons for going vegan are: Health, Animals, Environment, justice (human rights protection) and taste (because vegan food is delicious). However, related topics are not limited by this shortlist. Any vegan could name hundreds of reasons and benefits of the vegan lifestyle, that is, if you are willing to listen 😉

There is such a tremendous amount of information on veganism out there, so to make it easier for you, I have compiled a list of resources that are, in my opinion, the most useful and impactful. To begin with, I invite you to acquaint yourself with reasons for going vegan in two of my compilations: Top 5 Short Veganism-Related YouTube Videos and my list of Must-Watch Documentaries that answer so many questions related to veganism and go in depth in discovery of all the aspects of veganism from ethics to health.

Also, check out my article on Top Five Vegan Informative YouTube Channels (below), a list of Useful Websites For Vegans , as well as the article about Doctors And Scientists who contributed to the development of the vegan movement. Please keep in mind that I refer to external sources here, so if there is a dead link, please let me know, so I can fix it!

TOP 5 Vegan Informative YouTube Channels

There are many YouTube channels  that I would love to recommend checking out, but here I will list my TOP 5

1. NutritionFacts.org

Key Topics: Health, Nutrition, Scientific Research

NutritionalFacts.org

Dr. Greger’s YouTube channel. It can be said to be an information base, a guide how to transition to vegan diet in a healthy and rational way.  All content is based on facts, a huge team of doctors and scientists are working on this project. No emotions, nothing about ethical aspect of going vegan – just facts about health benefits of a plant-based diet.

2. Earthling Ed

Key Topics: Ethics, Environment, Morality, Activism

Earthling Ed

YouTube channel I highly recommend to everyone. Ed Winters is a vegan educator, public speaker and animal welfare activist. He has an amazing talent talking with people. Many times I felt shame for things I’ve said in the heated debate about veganism. I would love to have the ability to talk with others like he does. Ability to talk about vegan philosophy in a way, so people would not hate me afterwards. If you’re vegan (or just going vegan) and having trouble making contact with people speaking your truth, there is a lot you can learn from Earthling Ed.  The channel is in English, but many videos have already translated by АзъЕсмь studio to Russian. For example, here’s a video about excuses that prevent people from becoming vegan.

3. Mic the Vegan

Key Topics: Health, Environment, Scientific Research, Morality, Social Media News

Mic The Vegan

this guy is currently studying Public Health at the Master’s level. He provides high-quality content, and uses flawless argumentation. Here you can find answers to many important questions. The channel is in English, but something is already being translated into Russian.

4. Bite Size Vegan

Key Topics:  Morality, Vegan lifestyle basics, Argumentation, Activism

Bite Size Vegan

— there are more vegan women in the world than vegan men, however most of the girl’s channels are more about lifestyle and recipes than about the science behind it. Bite Size Vegan  is an exception. She talks about veganism with rigorously-researched information, helps to learn the basics of vegan lifestyle, gives tips how to further spread the vegan message and covers a lot of important topics. I like her vibes, she has a good sense of humor, and she talks directly and openly.

5. Rich Roll

Key Topics:  Mental and Physical Health, Spiritual growth, Sport, Connections, News

Vegan Runner

Rich Roll’s is a former drug addict who was saved by veganism and as a vegan he ran an ultramarathon. Now he has a very popular podcast, he invites very interesting people to come and talks about different topics connected with vegan lifestyle, health, sport, ethics, environment, and spiritual development. The channel is in English, and it’s a pity that there is nothing like this in Russian yet.
